CDC Cooperative Agreement for Educating Policy Makers on Chronic Disease Prevention
SOPHE receives support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)*, in the form of a cooperative agreement that allows us to build capacity to support a national framework to prevent chronic disease and promote health by educating policy makers. Through this cooperative agreement, SOPHE is able to raise awareness of national and state chronic disease and health inequity issues among health educators so that they may then provide information and education to their local policy makers. Additionally, SOPHE is able to develop a variety of resources, and provide continuing education opportunities that focus on issues of chronic disease and health disparities.
