The conference encouraged a full exchange of ideas, research, policies, and programs and to catalyze new alliances at the national, state, and local levels in the quest to achieve health equity. These plenary sessions have been approved by SOPHE for 5.50 Category I continuing education contact hours (CECHs) for CHES. Request for CHES credits must be a minimum of 2.0 CECHs. Webinar Series, Healthy Kids: Innovative Programs for Safe Schools and Communities - October 19, 2006

View the recorded webinar to learn about the important role of safe environments and relationships in preventing youth injuries in our communities and our schools. Communities provide a social context and environment where children spend their extracurricular time. By using a comprehensive approach, injury prevention messages will be reinforced and adopted in various settings. Schools are an important environment to address safety issues. Approximately 53 million children spend a large portion of their day in school. Consequently, many unintentional and intentional injuries occur while children are at school with 2.2 million children 14 and younger experiencing a school-related injury each year. This event has been approved by SOPHE for 1.5 Category I continuing education contact hours (CECHs) for CHES. Journal Self Study
Each bi-monthly issue of the Health Education and Behavior (HEB) Journal and quarterly publication of Health Promotion Practice (HPP) features two self-study articles. Each article is worth up to 2.0 Category I continuing education contact hours. HEB/HPP self study artlicles are valid up to one year after the issue date. HEB dates of issues are as follows: February, April, June, August, October, and December. HPP dates of issues are as follows: Jan, April, July, and October.

How do I Receive CHES Credit?
You have the following options:

(1) Download the test questions, mail fees or fax (credit card payment only) and application form to SOPHE or;

(2) Complete the application form to request the test questions which is found in back of the journals and submit both the application form and fees to:

(3) Within 30 days upon receipt of the test questions, National SOPHE will issue a Certificate of Attendance based upon your score. 8-10 questions correct earns 2 CECH, 5-7 questions correct earns 1 CECH and less than 5 questions correct earns 0 CECH

Test questions not answered will be marked incorrect.

Test questions will be available on-line by the 15th of the month in which the journal is published.

Where Can I get the Journal?
Active members of National SOPHE receive both journals as a membership benefit. Individual and annual subscriptions are available by contacting Sage Publications at (800) 818-7243 and (805) 499-9774. Check with your university, college or public library for availability.

What Are the Fees?
$14.00 per article for National SOPHE members
$28.00 per article for Non-National SOPHE members
