Health Education & Behavior (formerly Health Education Quarterly), is one of the most frequently cited journals in the field, now published bimonthly. HEB explores social and behavioral change as they affect health status and quality of life. It also examines the processes of planning, implementing, managing, and assessing health education and social-behavioral interventions. The journal provides empirical research, case studies, program evaluations, literature reviews, and discussions of theories of health behavior and health status, as well as strategies to improve social and behavioral health. Regular features include Perspectives, which offers thoughtful insights into complex subjects, and Practice Notes, which summarizes innovative programs in health education. An annual subscription to HEB is a standard benefit to all SOPHE members. Manuscript Submission Guidelines Health Education & Behavior is interested in articles directed to researchers and/or practitioners in health behavior and health education. Empirical research, case studies, program evaluations, literature reviews, and articles discussing theories are regularly published in the journal. Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's web-based manuscript tracking system, Editorial Manager. Journal Self Study Each bi-monthly issue of Health Education & Behavior (HEB) features two self-study articles. Each article is worth up to 2.0 Category I continuing education contact hours for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES). HEB self-study articles are valid up to one year after the issue date. HEB dates of issues are as follows: February, April, June, August, October, and December. HEB self-study tests can be found online.
