Emergency Public Health Education (EPHE) Network

The Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and CDC's Community Health Outreach and Education Team (CHET) have established a national Emergency Public Health Education (EPHE) Network (formerly referred to as the Surge Capacity Network). This network includes both SOPHE members and non-members with a mission to enhance communication, outreach and dissemination efforts with state and local health educators in preparing for and responding to emergency events, including natural disasters, pandemic influenza, and bioterrorism. EPHE Network members will:

  • Receive public health emergency alerts that are sent out by the ECS
  • Participate on quarterly calls, as well as conference calls in the event of an emergency
  • Receive notification of relevant resources, training events, and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in emergency response.
