National SOPHE Sponsored Continuing Education Opportunities
Journal Self Study
Each bi-monthly issue of the Health Education and Behavior (HEB) Journal and quarterly publication of Health Promotion Practice (HPP) features two self-study articles. Each article is worth up to 2.0 Category I continuing education contact hours. HEB/HPP self study artlicles are valid up to one year after the issue date. HEB dates of issues are as follows: February, April, June, August, October, and December. HPP dates of issues are as follows: Jan, April, July, and October.
How do I Receive CHES Credit?
You have the following options:
(1) Download the test questions, mail fees or fax (credit card payment only) and application form to SOPHE or;
(2) Complete the application form to request the test questions which is found in back of the journals and submit both the application form and fees to:

(3) Within 30 days upon receipt of the test questions, National SOPHE will issue a Certificate of Attendance based upon your score. 8-10 questions correct earns 2 CECH, 5-7 questions correct earns 1 CECH and less than 5 questions correct earns 0 CECH
Test questions not answered will be marked incorrect.
Test questions will be available on-line by the 15th of the month in which the journal is published.
Where Can I get the Journal?
Active members of National SOPHE receive both journals as a membership benefit. Individual and annual subscriptions are available by contacting Sage Publications at (800) 818-7243 and (805) 499-9774. Check with your university, college or public library for availability.
What Are the Fees?
$14.00 per article for National SOPHE members
$28.00 per article for Non-National SOPHE members
