Helping Communities Combat Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratories
SOPHE, along with partners at the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) and the support of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), developed a resource for health professionals focusing on the public health challenges of clandestine methamphetamine labs. This toolkit is broken into two parts: Part A: An Educational Toolkit for Health Educators, which contains a Primer on Meth and Clan Meth Labs, Information Sheets Focusing on Different Segments of the Population Affected by Meth, a Community Action Guide, and a Resource Directory. Part B: A Guideline for Clinicians and Health Care Professionals Responding to Methamphetamine Lab Exposures contains information on Acute Meth Lab Exposures, Acute Meth Lab Toxicity, Evaluation of Children Exposed to Meth Labs, and Environmental Considerations in Cleaning up Meth Labs.
