From the NAACP to the Black church and more this webinar will provide background on how to work with historically Black organizations to combat health disparities.

  • Provides an overview of utilizing key community stakeholders.
  • Participants will receive tools and methods for engaging with both small and large organizations including guidance on how to start the conversation and solidify partnerships.
  • Participants will walk away from this webinar with an understanding of the cultural context, how to approach partnership, and how to address the needs of both the community and the organizations that serve the community.

Charles Jackson is a native of Baltimore, and a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston.

During his years at Emmanuel, he discovered his affinity for diversity and inclusion issues, especially those dealing with race.

After graduating from college, he went on to receive his certification as a Diversity Practitioner from NTL Institute.

Jackson has served as the program manager/outreach specialist for numerous local and national African-American health campaigns including the American Cancer Society and multiple Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded campaigns for health issues including Influenza, HIV, Tobacco and Food Access.

Currently, Jackson teaches Health, Race, and Society to future medical practitioners at MERIT Health Leadership Academy, as well as acting as Community Organizer at the Family League of Baltimore.
