Advocacy Committee
To develop SOPHE’s legislative agenda, plan resolutions and position statements, and organize the Advocacy Summit.

Annual Conference Planning Committee
To plan and organize the educational program for the Annual Conference. The committee is divided into four subcommittees: Program, Abstracts, Student Engagement, and Social Workgroups. 

Audit Committee
To provide an independent oversight of SOPHE financial reporting, internal controls and risk management to ensure financial integrity, accuracy and compliance with regulations. They oversee the external audit function and evaluate the internal audit function.

Awards Committee 
To recognize and promote excellence in health education research, practice, and programs.

Finance Committee
To provide financial oversight and strategic guidance to SOPHE board by approving the annual budget, reviewing financial reports monthly, review internal controls, managing investments and reserves, and developing financial policies and strategic plans to achieve financial goals and long-term sustainability.

History – 80th Anniversary Committee
To oversee SOPHE’s documentation and celebration of SOPHE’s historical highlights.

Membership Committee
To develop, implement, and evaluate programs and strategies related to recruitment and retention of SOPHE members, and to make recommendations on SOPHE membership benefits. The committee also makes evidence-based recommendations on enhancing membership benefits and value.

Nominating Committee
To select the slate of candidates for the Board of Trustees election process.

Professional Development Committee
To develop education offerings for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®), Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES®), and Certified Public Health credential holders (CPH) to obtain and maintain certification.  

Resource Development Committee
To develop and implement a plan to ensure the long-term financial stability and growth of the organization, consistent with its mission and strategic plan.

School Health Teacher Education Standards Work Group
Develops school health teacher education standards for accreditation. By invitation only.
