The 2022 Advocacy Summit is just around the corner – October 22-24, 2022 – and we are deep in the weeds preparing for another great event!
This year’s Summit will be hosted over the course of three days. We’re bring together advocates, and aspiring advocates, from both practitioners and educators with various backgrounds to discuss policy that affects youth health equity.
Introducing our first confirmed speaker
We invite you to join us for this important gathering of leaders from around the country!
We’re thrilled to have keynote panelists like Dr. Terrinieka W. Powell, who has expertise adolescent health, implementation science and qualitative methods. Partnerships with churches, schools, libraries, families, and community-based organizations are a cornerstone of her research.
We’ll announce more keynote panelists soon, so stay tuned!
Get ready to learn about topics related to youth health advocacy
More than ever, youth need engaged community members to take initiative and advocate alongside them. That’s why this year’s Summit features five tracks where attendees can hear from experts on a broad range of topics affecting youth health.
Attendees will learn more about innovative policies that address youth health inequities caused by structural racism and misinformation. There will be speakers addressing youth mental health and ways to eliminate factors that contribute to youth sexual and reproductive health inequities.
Like last year’s Advocacy Summit, we will also feature a student poster track that showcases undergraduate and graduate students working on youth-focused advocacy related research.
Who should attend?
The Summit is open to health education and promotion practitioners, researchers, students, and organizations. Participants new to advocacy will learn the basics of enhancing their confidence. Experienced advocates will have access to advanced sessions.
Additionally, we are thrilled to be able to provide a discount to Eta Sigma Gamma members! Students in ESG can save $10 on their registration to the Summit when they use code 22ASESG10.
We hope you’ll take advantage of early bird pricing and register before September 19, 2022.
Earn the advocacy training you need to address the legislative issue
We highly suggest that attendees register for Hill visits on Monday, October 24. You can add this to your Summit registration. SOPHE provides advocacy training, materials, and resources needed to advocate during the visits. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Summit.
