SOPHE names Susan Robertson, CAE, interim CEO

Washington, DC – December 1, 2021 – Following the June 2021 announcement of the retirement of long-tenured CEO, Elaine Auld MPH, MCHES®, the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), announced today that its executive committee has appointed Susan Robertson, CAE, as its interim CEO.

Founded in 1950, SOPHE is the premier nonprofit organization advancing health education, health advocacy, and health equity. Its mission is to support leaders in health education and promotion to advance healthy and equitable communities across the globe. SOPHE represents the professional interests of more than 4,000 members throughout the U.S. and abroad.

In her role as interim CEO, Susan will lead SOPHE’s dedicated team of professionals while continuing to grow the organization’s value to its members, donors, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders. She will lead efforts to ensure SOPHE’s programs remain high-quality, sought-after opportunities for SOPHE members and other public health education professionals.

Susan brings extensive experience in association management to SOPHE, having served in several senior management roles, including CEO of the American Society of Association Executives.
