AIDSVu 101: Visualizing the HIV Epidemic

This webinar will concentrate on how to use AIDSVu, an interactive online mapping tool that visualizes the HIV epidemic on communities across the United States to increase disease awareness and promote data-driven public health decision-making. Utilizing data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local health departments, and prescription analytics, AIDSVu allows users to explore the HIV epidemic at the state-, county-, and city- levels. The map visualizes HIV-related data by race/ethnicity, sex, age, and transmission category, and shows how HIV is related to various social determinants of health, such as high school education and poverty. AIDSVu’s maps, data, service locators, and infographics can be used by advocates, researchers, grant writers, and health departments to understand HIV across the U.S.
