LaVerne D. Partlow
LaVerne D. Partlow is a health education coordinator at the Department of Health and Human Services – Public Health Division in Gaston County, NC, where she works with municipalities and community residents to promote healthy eating and active living.
A native of Charlotte, Partlow graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s in health education. She returned to earn her Master of Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in health promotion.
Partlow has two goals: to run a marathon in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and to work to improve the health of the community in which she lives. She is as passionate about running as she is about helping others when it comes to health.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading. She is also involved in her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at the local level, volunteers with Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to senior adults, and serves as the secretary of her neighborhood association.
