Prioritizing Health with Youth Leaders: Change Agents in School Health Council Work
This webinar will showcase how one school and district have created a culture of health using students as change agents. FIT2gether is a student-driven initiative designed to catalyze a culture of health through empowerment and collective action.
FIT2gether has three components that each focus on a different population:
- FIT2Learn (students)
- FIT2Serve (staff)
- FIT2Prosper (community)
With student-led teams at each school, young people are identifying barriers to health and well-being. Students design solutions to make healthier school environments and communities for all. Students are moving from being the focus of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child framework to be the leaders and innovators in their schools to align health and education goals. The speaker will share successes and lessons learned from a youth-created model that emphasizes the power of reciprocal collective impact, student voice, and youth action in breaking down barriers to school health.
This webinar also fills the requirements for our cooperative agreement with the CDC.
