Dear SOPHE volunteers – THANK YOU.

We’ve said it before and we will say it again, and again to share our gratitude and appreciation. Volunteers are the heart of our organization and they are the backbone of what we do!

The professional community within SOPHE offers a variety of opportunities; from serving on one of our many committees to being elected to a board position or co-chairing one of our 14 communities of practice. You can learn more about these opportunities by submitting a digital interest form online.

Our 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, implores us with his words, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” If you are looking for ways to join the ranks and become an Emerging Volunteer with SOPHE, consider our free online course to learn more.

Now, more than ever, the sentiment for gratitude is the ripple effect needed to support and uplift our communities. In health education, health care, academia, government, and non-governmental agencies many are working tirelessly to provide solutions, cures, and support during the COVID-19 pandemic response. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those volunteers, past and present who continue to help the SOPHE organization thrive. We could not do it without you!

Without volunteers donating their time and passion to the causes they care about, we would not be able to expand our critical work in research, practice or advocacy that informs our profession every day. Volunteers step up to the plate and make it happen. That’s why this April, we take the time to celebrate volunteers and volunteering with National Volunteer Week.
