Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification Training

This live Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification Training is hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation.

The Epilepsy Foundation developed this standardized program and envisions this training will become the standard training for seizure first aid throughout the United States. The Seizure Recognition and First Aid Training certification program provides information and skills to recognize seizures and safely help someone during a seizure. The first aid procedures in the guide reflect the standard of knowledge and current best practices. This information is presented in a format suited for direct training of the public.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a two-year certification. (Separate Registration & Pre-Assessment Required)

Writing for Journal Publication: Tips and Tools for Getting Started

Writing for scientific journals can be a daunting and overwhelming process, especially for practitioners. In this hands-on workshop, you will explore why it is important to publish in the peer-reviewed literature; how to select a journal for publishing your work; steps in the publishing process; how to navigate online journal submission software; and maximizing the dissemination of your published manuscript.

Examples from SOPHE’s three journals will be featured. Registrants should come with one or more ideas for a potential journal article as well as a laptop or iPad to explore various journal websites and publishing parameters.
